Time To Get Up

My alarm went off at 6am. Today was the day. My Memorial Day photoshoot at the EdgyZen Spa in Alexandria was at 10.45 with Candace — The Essence Photographer — on the grounds of the spa. I smiled.

The first thing I did after getting dressed and washing my face and brushing my teeth was head to a coffee shop. I knew I needed a red eye. Got my red eye and came back and took a shower and began the blow dry process. I had someone doing my hair and makeup, but I also know how long it takes to make my naturally curly hair straight and so I needed a head start. It’s like when you clean before the cleaner comes to clean your house. LOL. I blew out my own hair section by section and flat ironed it too as best I could. Then I quickly made my morning shake.

The photographer and makeup artist arrived at 8;30am. This is important to know because we didn’t start the shoot until 10:45, and I had already spent an hour on my hair getting it straightened. A lot of preparation goes into a photo shoot. Then we put flash tattoos all over my…
