Creating Bliss

Treating Myself Big
As a part of my plans for Memorial Day weekend, I booked a spa session at the EdgyZen Spa in Alexandria. The plan was to pamper myself, and I was fortunate enough to spend a part of the weekend there experiencing not only what the spa had to offer, but also to have a photo shoot with Candace — The Essence Photographer — on the grounds of the spa.
This whole experience was full of wonderful synchronicities, from preparation for the photoshoot, to the blissful day I spent at the spa where I had an hour of private yoga, followed by an acupressure/zero rebalancing massage, the infrared sauna, and the whirlpool hot tub. As much as I learned about what it means for me to be a woman standing in my power (the theme of the photoshoot), the time spent at the spa was an exquisite self-care session, with its own lesson for me.
The journey
